The Oak Arbor School’s fourth annual All Day Scrapbooking Event will be held on January 19, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM in a beautiful, window-lined Social Hall with a wooded setting for guests to appreciate the falling snowflakes as they cozily work on their memory albums inside. Every comfort for participants has been thought of from a drive up/drop off covered portico to avoid lugging precious cargo through the snow, comfortable, cushioned chairs, large workspace to on-site massage and more! “We’re really excited about offering this event in such a lovely space.” states Amy Elder, Co-chair of this fundraising event. “All of our guests share that it’s a beautiful and relaxing place to work on their albums, they can enjoy the winter scenery and not be trapped in an enclosed room - it makes a difference! They feel like they’ve gotten away without traveling.”
This is a wonderful opportunity to catch up or get started on that New Year’s resolution to preserve photos and memories with no distractions as delicious homemade and catered meals are served in separate dining space and snacks & beverages available throughout the day.
Inspiration, instruction and demonstrations included! Card makers, first time album makers to seasoned veterans will love the techniques shared at this event. Continuing with last year’s success, album & card making supplies, custom laser cutting will be available from multiple onsite vendors including Creative Memories, Picture This, Close to My Heart, and Perfect Cut. “We’ve gathered all the inspiration and supplies that our guests will need to have a successful and exciting day!” shares Karen Waters, Co-Chair. Door Prizes will be awarded every hour; guests will be greeted with a lovely Goodie Bag and thrilled by several “Favorite Things” moments to rival an Oprah Experience! A raffle drawing will attract a crowd with album making, and a large variety of other prizes valued $75 on up to a Grand Prize valued at $200!
“We heard rave reviews last year about the wonderful homemade soup, salad and breads offered” shares Pam Steen, Co-chair. “We’re excited to say that our finest bakers and chefs are back, ready to serve up more delicious lunch treats!” Another gracious contributor, Truly Scrumptious Catering, joins us again and is making some mouthwatering southern-style specialties like white garlic lasagne for dinner. This will not be your typical Scrapbooker’s dinner, our guests will be coming back for more!
This fundraising effort will benefit the purchase of academic equipment and support enrichment programs for Oak Arbor Students. The event is held at the Oak Arbor Church & School at 495 Oak Arbor Circle West, Rochester; approximately 3 miles north of downtown. Registration is $40 and is based on a first paid, first reserved basis. Click here for your Registration form.
