Cup Stacking World Record Attempt

Date: Nov 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Place: Oak Arbor Social Hall

On Thursday afternoon, Nov. 18th, Oak Arbor is going to be part of breaking a Guinness World Record in Sport Stacking (aka cup stacking). This will be the "Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations in one Day." We will be doing this during our PE classes. Each student will receive a sticker for participating. Students are encouraged to bring in their own cups if they own them. If not they are welcome to use the cups that the school has purchased with some of the proceeds from the Oak Arbor Benefit. Parents are welcome to come join in the fun!

5th-8th grades will be stacking from 12:35-1:20 and 1st-4th will be stacking from 1:25-2:15. ~Kristin Pitcairn

Scrapbooking Fundraiser

Preparations are underway for the next annual scrapbook fundraiser, on January 22nd, 2011. Last year, this fundraiser earned just over $5000 for our school. That money was matched by the General Church, and as a result we invested $10,500 into our school endowment. Our earnings will once again be matched next January and put into our endowment, where it will benefit our school for generations to come! Thank you! Liane de Chazal

Mitten Tree

Again this year we will collect mittens, hats, scarves for the Neighborhood House. The tree will go up after Thanksgiving in the school lobby. The collection time is short. Any gifts or outerwear would need to be brought to the school by Wednesday, December 8th. The date gets earlier every year ~ Thanks, Julie Elder
