Welcome to the 3rd& 4th grade classroom!

We have a lovely, spacious carpeted room with large windows and a great view of the woods located behind us. Each student has an individual desk, and we have a large table where we can sit together for projects and group lessons. Each student also has a cubby to hang such things as coats and backpacks and a place to put an extra pair of shoes or boots for recess.

We are looking forward to another exciting year in the third/fourth grade classroom. We will be studying mammals, trees seeds amd flowers, Climatic Regions (Desert, Polar, Rainforest, Oceans, Mountains), Rome, Medieval Times, digestion, and many more interesting subjects. We will also be reading The Chocolate Touch, Stone Fox, Mr. Popper's Penguins, In The King's Service and The Big Wave and other fun books..

We also have several field trips planned:

  • Morley Chocolate Factory
  • Stoney Creek Nature Center
  • Detroit Science Center
  • Food Bank
  • DIA
  • and a few surprises!

In the spring we will begin practicing for our school play (grades 1-4). Save the performance date! - May 15, 2009.

Looking forward to a fun year!

This school year we have twelve students in the 3rd and 4th grade classroom. There are five fourth graders and seven third graders. We look forward to having a fun year and learning a lot together.

We begin each day with classroom worship or chapel, with the entire school. Students actively participate during classroom worship. We discuss stories from the Lord's Word and how they apply to our lives. Students learn a weekly recitation, that we put to music and the students enjoy using hand motions.

We had a fun field trip to the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center in Troy.  We participated in a program on insects.

This is our class of 7.  We had spys, a horse, an Indian, a punkrocker, a witch, and a pirate for Halloween.

Our entire school grades 1-8 joined in on the Halloween fun.  We participated in games, crafts, a cider press an we enjoyed goulish food.  The students came dressed in very clever costumes and paraded around for all to see.
