Language Arts We will study and understand the usage and mechanics of the English language through guided practice. We will read literature from various genres and forms: short stories, novels, poetry. The students will have many opportunities to write! Math We use the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project:Transition Math for seventh grade and Algebra for eighth grade. History This year we will be studying early American history from the colonists to post-civil war. We will learn about the forming of the United States:its triumphs and its struggles. Science Mrs. Elphick and Mrs. Gladish team-teach introduction to physical science. Lab is held each Monday. Students will write a research paper based one of the units of study. Theatre This year the students will have a couple of opportunities to perform! We will present a play in the fall and in the spring.
